We've been getting sandwiches and boba for years from here. I am half Vietnamese yet basically a male version of a white girl. However, these sandwiches are delicious. I love the flaky bread and the pate. The boba is usually good, but today instead of the delicious round balls, they were sweet rectangles. I didn't like them as much. The worst experience I had here was today, with the sandwich. The meat section was delicious. However, I took one bit of the jalepeno and I literally died. I was about to cry in the store. I was swallowing the boba bits whole just so there was a constant flow of cool milk. That was not fun. The service is friendly, yet slow. It is worth it however, but it helps to know someone who speaks Vietnamese.

Before I got officially diagnosed with a gluten allergy I RAN here. SIMPLE LITTLE PLACE With just a few hastily added tables and mostly unadorned walls, this place feels pretty new and pretty temporary. Currently the menu is written on poster boards in a regular black sharpie and a handful of Banh Mi variations as well as a score of Boba types are offered. In locations like this I prefer to grab-n-go rather than dine in so that's what I've done. GREAT BANH MI DECENT BOBA MmMmMm the Bread is excellently crispy and flaky--you won't be able to eat that cleanly--and perfectly cradles the goodies inside. So far whether it's the special or the Pork the flavors inside make me imagine I've stepped into a family's kitchen and this is what they've prepared for me. Unfortunately the Boba drinks are more on the powder/flavor icy side--never as good as using brewed Tea bases or flavors from the real Fruit. And so far my slushies haven't been blended very well with larger ice chunks floating around. GREAT PRICES ON THE GO The Banh Mi prices are similar to other places who serve it in the area. I'll definitely return again when I'm craving some except maybe I'll skip the Boba.

Banh Mi Saigon is a small cafe that serves Banh Mi with various fillings, as well as a few desserts, drinks, and bubble tea. There is plenty of seating inside for those that would like to dine-in. They are only open until 5-6pm, and you order at the counter. The parking lot is slammed during peak hours, and there are cars constantly circling for spots during this time. The entire plaza is awesome and currently contains three food businesses that all totally blew me away; Pho Kien Giang, Balsa Market, and Banh Mi Saigon. Yes, I went to and ate from all three today. The Banh Mi was taken home to eat for dinner later, don't hate. While the bubble tea is the powder blended variety, the Banh Mi is the best I have ever had. Pardon me, I have not yet been to Vietnam, so I am just stating from my current experience eating Banh Mi so far. I ordered the grilled pork sandwich with all toppings; carrot-radish pickle, mayo, pate, grilled pork, cilantro with stems, and jalapeno. The added somethin' that made me fall in love is the punch of garlic, real garlic, not the powder stuff--- which came from one of the schmear, either mayo or pate. Either way, it took the flavor profile over the edge for me and was totally amazing. Also, the consistency of the bread made for a novel presentation of the sandwich... the inside of the bread is super soft and the outside is substantial and crispy. When cut in half, this created a ring of bread around the packed-in filling that is glorious in appearance and taste. All wrapped in wax paper with a rubber band around the outside. All of this served with a smile from the tolerant owner. Who not only tolerates customers like me coming in and ordering food, but tolerates the other rude man that works there and gives nasty faces and disapproving head-shakes to the customers, smokes outside, and flicks his cigarette wherever he pleases. His attempt to make us extremely uncomfortable was squashed by her sweetness.

Loved this place at first. Came a second time and waited in line for 10 minutes which wasn't really the problem. Asked for my banh mi to be a certain way and also vegetarian. By the time I left and it was too late to turn around, discovered that the sandwich was made all wrong and it was BEEF. Basically a waste of time and $. Not sure if I'll be back after this debacle.

Great little clean sandwich shop, with friendly staff. I love Bahn Mi, and this hits the spot. Nice sized sandwich, with a can of soda = $4.50. If you want a quick and inexpensive lunch on 49th street near US 19, this is a good choice.

Don't be afraid of this little hole in the wall. It's worth taking a look on the inside. Some of their regular sandwiches include vegetarian, BBQ, ham, fish, and the special. They also have combo sandwhiches where you can combine these for only 50 cents more. The banh mi here is cheap with all sandwiches running $4 or less, and yes, that includes the combos. The bread is quickly toasted and always fresh. All of the ingredients tasted fresh too. So far, I've tried the Special and the Ham and BBQ combo and they were both awesome! They also serve a wide range of boba teas, Vietnamese coffee, and they have drinks like aloe vera juice, fruit juices, and Asian soy milk, which is sweeter and better tasting than the stuff you find at the grocery stores, in a cooler. It is cash only so make sure you stop by an ATM. There are only a few tables on the inside where they have additional condiments. This little cafe is perfect if you want to get in and grab a quick sandwich and boba tea. Add a bag of spicy shrimp chips to complete the meal ; ) enjoy!! It gets five stars in my book because of the value. Everything tasted great and the service was nice and quick!
